Home Energy Assistance Programs

The Home Energy Assistance Program is a federally funded program that issues heating benefits to supplement a household’s annual energy costs. Typically, an approved participant in this program may be eligible for the following benefits:

• Regular Heating Assistance benefit
• Emergency Heating Assistance benefit
• Heating Equipment Repair or Replacement benefit
• Clean and Tune benefit
• Cooling Assistance benefit

Please note that due to the coronavirus pandemic the federal government has provided additional funds thru the CARES ACT. Beginning April 24, 2020 a third emergency benefit is available for households who have exhausted the regular, first emergency and second emergency HEAP benefits and who meet the eligibility guidelines for emergency benefit assistance.
